It's been a rough few seasons for the likable German rider. All was going as planned on his return to racing, he was even pushing for race wins and was one corner away from getting one! Alas Anderson was just quick enough to edge it but that was the start of the dark cloud that descended on Ken this season.

A mistake during a battle with Cooper Webb saw them both go down and Kens Arm was sucked into the Webbs rear swing arm. Not the place ANYONE want's to put their arm let me tell you. You can check out my post when it happened. You can also check out the setbacks he has had along the way in my update after the event.

Anyway a long road was ahead of him as it surfaced that the damage was a little worse than first imagined which called time on his 2018 Supercross journey.

There is some light at the end of this tunnel though steemers and Honda HRC have released a press statement with some great news.

Honda HRC

"He is scheduled to have surgery on April 11 in Vail, Colorado, where Dr. Viola will remove the pins from the German's right hand. The procedure is expected to be quick, with Roczen scheduled to head home the same day and begin riding on April 16."

This is amazing news! If everything goes to plan, and I'm sure they would not have issued the statement if there was much doubt on that. It means Ken will have a bit more than a month to prepare for the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross season opener at Hangtown. This will be a great confidence booster for HRC as last time he was part of the outdoor season he owned it!
