So this season has taken it's toll on a large number of high profile riders but any injuries are bad and unwelcome. Let's take a look and see who's missing out on the action at the Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta tonight.
450SX
Justin Barica - Hand
After being landed on at Arlington he has undergone surgery to fix a broken hand, no return date has been set yet but fans will be keen to see the revived Yamaha rider back soon!
Justin Bogle - Humerus, Back
Another sad one, after multiple concussions Bogle came back but was also landed on in San Deigo which left him with a broken Humerus and a fractured L2 vertebrae. This year is not proving to be a lucky one for the Suzuki rider and there is no timeline on his return currently.
Tyler Enticknap - Pelvis
There has not been a lot of info passed out about Tylers recovery after braking his pelvis in three places while practicing. Heal up mate and get back soon.
Josh Grant - Leg
After fracturing his leg in practice at Arlington he has undergone surgery on his leg and he has been posting positive vibes on his insta about being back in a few weeks time. I'm sure Kawasaki are keen to get him back riding as soon as possible.
Josh Hansen - Foot
Hansen broke his foot all the way back at the Monster Energy Cup and has not returned to Monster Energy Supercross at all since, it is not known if he will return at this point.
Fredrick Noren - Hand, Knee
This is a bad one, Noren tore a ligament in his hand which caused some bones to rotate and as such will miss the rest of 2018. He is taking some extra time to take care of some niggling knee issues also.
Alex Ray - Wrist, Leg
I very much doubt we will see Ray return for the Monster Energy Supercross season after dislocating his wrist and suffering a ruptured patella tendon... ouch.
Ken Roczen
Man you name it, ken has been through it lately... His latest list of injuries since the clash with Cooper Web include a shattered hand with dislocated metacarpals and torn ligaments. It is certain that he is done for the 2018 Monster Energy Supercross series and will now focus on being fit and ready for the outdoor Lucas Oil Pro Motocross season.
Cole Seely - Pelvis, Sacrum
The final nail in Honda HRC's seasons coffin was Seely crashing in Tampa as a result of mistiming the rhythm section and going down. This left the likable rider with multiple fractures to his Sacrum (tail bone) and fractures to both sides of his pelvis. he has undergone surgery but there is no doubt his Supercross racing is done for 2018.
Jake Weimer - Wrist, Hand
Lastly we have Weimer who, following a crash in San Diego, suffered a broken wrist and a couple of metacarpals and is out for the time being with no news on a return currently.
250SX
Jon Ames - Femur
After a nasty collision with Chaz Braden in Arlington, Ames picked up a broken femur which will see him miss the remainder of the 2018 season.
Justin Cooper - Ribs, Shoulder, Concussion
Cooper went down hard in Houston which left the rider badly beaten up with nine broken ribs, a concussion and a shoulder injury...
Justin Hoeft - Feet
Another nasty mishap in San Diego left Hoeft with both feet broken. He has undergone surgery and is hoping the 250 SX West rest period will give him enough time to heal up.
Alex Martin - Wrist
Anther casualty of the San Diego Supercross event was Alex Martin who was unable to race the main after spraining his wrist. He is also hoping to use the West rest period to make a strong comeback.
Mitch Oldenburg - Arm
After going down during practice at Oakland Oldenburg has been trying to get past muscle pains in his arms. He missed San Diego and is working hard to be ready when the 250 SX West series returns.
I wish them all a speedy recovery and lets hope we have some great racing tonight to make up for the bad.
