Cagiva w8 125 year as yet unknown.

This week or months restoration project landed outside my workshop today.

I need to asses this fully before deciding on a plan of action. The front forks are pitted and leaking, so maybe easier to just fit some other forks, maybe upside down. I have a spare set of Aprilia 125 forks that should fit perfectly on this, giving the same rake and trail.

I also need to see what the inside of the engine is like before fitting, as it could possibly be a blown motor. That would render this project dead in the water, though I do have a spare Yamaha dt 250 engine, that may just be tempted into this frame, hmmmmmm possibilities a plenty on this one.

It would be a shame to break this for parts, as Cagiva do not make motorbikes any more.

You can get the specifications and some idea of the finished bike here

Not sure why the previous owner went for a red frame when all the plastics are blue, as they are literally blue plastic, making painting them any other colour a bad idea. As a single scratch will expose the blue again, hmmmmmm decisions decisions.

Okay enough for now, hope everyone is having a fantastic day? still cool here at 2c though lovely and sunny now.
