Virago Carburetors and a Sneaky Guy

in motorcycle •  7 years ago

As I mentioned in my previous post, the carbs looked pretty bad so it's time to remove them and go through the process of re-building. So, I got the rebuild kit and a stage 1 jet kit to squeeze a little more power from the Virago. Many thanks to @andresworks and his "helper" on this part. This is what we started with:

Getting into the carbs themselves:

What's that in the corner? A closer look:

Some sort of bee or wasp! How in the world did he get in there? This was inside the float bowl of the carburetor. Anyway, after cleaning out all of the hiding animals in the equipment, the stage 1 jet kit was installed.

The carburetors are now all cleaned, back together, and painted. Ready to be installed on the engine when it is finished.

One last glamour shot:

More updates to come on the progress of this conversion, stay tuned!

Also check out @andresworks if you are interested in motorcycle builds, he has a cool 1984 Honda Z50R project he's working on.
