In the Philippine road, one business which proved to very useful and much appreciated by Filipinos ( Pinoy ) are vulcanizing shops. Setting up this kind of service is very easy and cheap, with simple know-how, mechanic tools and even just under the shade of tree, one can have its own way of living.

Motorcycle sales are continues in rise here, and the tires of it can be easily get flat compare to cars. This shops offer a quick fix at a very low price.

I got a flat tire, when I was in a hurry and he fix it just under 10 minutes. I pay him more than the cost of the service.

The method is a hot patch. A small rubber is "cook" to make it bond on the interior tire to patch the hole. This method can be use not only on motorcycle tires but also on much bigger tires of four-wheeled vehicles.

This kind of fixing a flat tire maybe too sketchy to more developed countries but for most Filipinos this kind of service gives much relief more than it cost.

In general, the patch method can be very reliable. The main thing is to do it correctly. Measure the maximum depth of the puncture and write it down on the outside of your motorcycle tyres. Knowing the thickness of the rubber layer will help you apply the vulcanizer correctly in your future work.

Then, using a special vacuum cleaner, remove the rubber dust from the area you have treated previously. Apply a degreasing liquid to the cloth and wipe the defect, moving from the center to the edges of the repaired area. Wait 3-4 minutes until the surface is completely dry.

Then mark the damage with special marking chalk and apply to cure adhesive to the treated area.
