I rode home from work tonight, 20 minutes in the rain in Phoenix AZ, and I had a great time. It was my first time riding in the rain and it was slightly nerve wracking. While riding back I thought about how if I didn't have a motorcycle I wouldn't be experiencing the rain. If I was in a car I would be in a heated dry environment shut out from the world. I hadn't been out in the rain since I was probably seven or eight years old splashing in puddles and it was fun to have those memories brought back by the experience. When I first bought my bike I knew I wanted to ride because I wanted to have experiences. I wanted to do road trips and go fast. Riding in the rain for the first time, the first time going WOT, the first time accidentally popping a wheelie, and even the first time I dropped my bike are all experiences I'll never forget and they only happened because I bought a bike. There's something about being out on the roads uncaged that makes the experience of riding a motorcycle more than just commuting (although I do ride my bike to work and school daily.) I just wanted to kinda get my thoughts out there.
Anytime someone asks me about my bike I always tell them "If you have ever been interested in riding a motorcycle, do it. You won't regret it.
looking forward to getting one soon
