Indian Motorcycles at the Barber Motorsports Museum

As an owner of a modern Indian "Scout Sixty" I am fascinated by Indian motorcycles from earlier eras. At a recent visit to the Barber Motorsports Museum in Birmingham Alabama there was much to see!

"Indian Red" featured prominently as the trademark color of this line of motorcycles, but there were examples of other colors like this stunning black beauty:

This 1926 Indian with pedals shows the evolution from motorized bicycles and brought to mind what it would have been like cruising on one of these back in that day:

Indians dominated in the early sport of board track racing and this display celebrated the excitement of zooming along those banked tracks of planks!

The Barber Motorsports Museum is massive. Whatever your taste in motorcycles, you will find many in a delightful if not mind-numbing array...

Most are meticulously restored to a fine finish, but original condition is also seen:

Exotic and fringe examples show the diversity of the Indian line. A winter version features skis and a special snow-gripping rear tire - -

... While the diminutive "Papoose" was intended to be air-dropped into combat zones - -

The Barber Motorsports Museum is located in Birmingham, Alabama and has an adjacent raceway which is often alive with exciting events. It contains many more Indian Motorcycles than I have shown here, so please consider this a preview. There is much more for you to discover on your own.

I have only featured Indians here but let me emphasize that they have EVERY brand of motorcycle that you can imagine, AND THEN SOME! Whether you like Kawasaki's, BMW's, Harley-Davidsons, or any other brand I guarantee that you will be delighted and amazed. Minibikes, drag bikes, motorcycle accessories - - they have it all. If you are into motorcycles and get the chance, explore it for yourself

As a proud owner of a modern Indian Scout, I left stoked about what I had seen and eager to get on my Indian and ride!!

Cool.....pretty much an unknown brand here in Europe though.

What a motorcycle , I want one :D

Kingslife, they are a cool brand with a nice heritage. The modern ones are made by a division of Polaris and inspired by the older bikes, but feature a contemporary liquid-cooled V twin engine. Their handling is excellent due largely to the geometry which is derived from the older Indian scouts. I'll get some pictures of mine with a review soon.
