Road Racing, The Most Dangers form of Motorsport

If you like or love motorcycle racing and haven’t witnessed road racing, you are missing out on the most exhilarating and dangerous forms of racing known to man (and woman of course!).

As a fan you get so close to the action a stretched arm could touch the riders who hit speeds of over 200mph. The smell of the engines, the feeling of them speed past. Anyone who watches for their first time of 50th time are equally blown away.

With speeds of over 200MPH on public roads it is safe to say this is anything but safe. The tracks are closed for the day public roads with lampposts, hedges, kerbs, pot holes, everything we all experience on a daily basis.

The most popular road race has to be the Isle of Man TT. Also known as “the TT”. This is a track around a small island in the Irish Sea called the Isle of Man. The track totalling just over 37 mile going through villages, countryside and much more!

Some people want this banned as there has been over 250 deaths at this circuit alone. However the riders know the risks and are willing to risk all for the glory of racing the circuit.

I could write for hours trying to explain just how impressive this form of racing is. Or you could watch this 2 minute trailer about the world famous Dunlop family. 2 sons Michael and William race, their father Robert and Uncle Joey Dunlop both lost their lives road racing.

When you view this, it will give you a small sense of how it is.
