Mount Burni Telong is an active volcano still active today. Having a height of more than 2,600 meters above sea level, Mount Burni Telong is included in the top 10 of the highest mountains in Aceh province. In Indonesian, the name of this mountain can be interpreted as a burning mountain. It is not strange, considering this mountain is an active volcano.

When the earthquake and tsunami that struck Aceh in 2004, Mount Burni Telong is feared to erupt again because many large rocks collapse so that local residents are forced to evacuate. But fortunately, the prediction is wrong so that the condition of Aceh that devastated when it is not compounded by the eruption of the mountain. The traveler must be careful when climbing Mount Burni Telong, because there are paths with a field that is quite extreme and challenging. Not infrequently, the climbers will encounter an uphill field that requires high concentration and stamina qualified. After passing the beautiful flowers, tourists will arrive at the summit path. At this point there is a cave that is often used as a resting place and set up a tent for the climbers. From this cave, the peak of Mount Burni Telong is quite close only about 200 meters away. When you reach the top of Mount Burni Telong, you will see a masterpiece of a truly enchanting oceanic cloud. The view from the top of the mountain, so beautiful from the green hills to the mountains that seem lined up. At the peak, tourists will find red and white flags that are the footsteps of previous climbers.
