20- The Mount Owen Moa Claw
Stumbling through the dark, a group of cavers came across something truly horrific: a huge great claw looking like it belonged to the devil. Investigations carried out after that 1986 expedition on Mount Owen in New Zealand found that the scaly Mount Owen moa claw belonged to an Upland Moa, a now-extinct giant flightless bird native to the country. This bird died out and vanished around 1500 AD. Phew, thank goodness for that.
Bizarre!
