Alps are majestic, a divine creation that leaves you in awe and yet a lot of young people do find it boring. So, what is it? Why is there a disconnect with nature? Especially when it comes to summer in the Alps.

Technology is the way forward but what happens when it takes its toll on you; omnipresent screens, the need to be online and hectic lifestyles leave no room to just…go out. Out where the air is fresh, out in the woods or out in the wilderness. Growing up, this is what we remember right? The smell of spring, the sound of birds chirping, and the excitement of exploring the mountains. The hike to a mountain hut while the sun lights up the valley, stopping by a bench to admire the majestic Alps or having a bite of the sandwich you made from home — isn’t that a weekend well spent?

Research also shows hiking in natural setting reduces anxiety and helps overcome depression. Funny enough, another study suggests an emotion related to “awe” may decrease inflammation. Science also tells us that Nature is your driver if you are feeling down or stuck at work — the one thing we all terribly need: “a break”.

Lawrence Yeo mentions “The one thing that existed long before we did is the very fabric of our entire planet”. The nature calls and for every human being, it is almost vital to have regular contact with nature. It is time to discover the things forgotten, it is time to spend a night in the stars and it is time to be with a group that values nature to its fullest.

Do you guys also feel that nature is underestimated?
