At 7 a.m. on May 16th, Wang Xuyang and the other 10 other warriors of group B of the 2018 Mount Everest mountaineering team were facing the sunrise from the world's highest peak of the Mount Everest, successively climbing up to it from its north slope. With the help of his teammates, he successfully launched the banner of “Yiwu business” in the wind. Under the blue sky, snow and the top of the mountain, the banner of “Yiwu business” seemed so dazzling.

“The reason why I brought the banner of “Yiwu business” to the highest peak in the world is that businessmen in Yiwu all have the same quality as those mountaineers----tenacious, dare to climb, indomitable.” Wang Xuyang said, “It’s really meaningful to do so. And I am very proud of it.”

Wang Xuyang, born in November 1969 in Tianxin Village, Fotang Town, Yiwu City, is currently the standing vice president of the Shanghai Yiwu chamber of Commerce. He graduated from the Department of architecture of Zhejiang University and gained his master degree of EMBA in China European International Business School. After graduating from university in 1992, he went to Shanghai for development, and now is the chairman of Shanghai Tengjun Investment Co., Ltd., a founding partner of Shanghai Realway Capital Assets Management Co., Ltd.

Although he was busy at work, Wang Xuyang had always loved sports, ranging from marathon to outdoor mountaineering. The long term of sporting not only gave him a healthy body, but also forged his strong will. For every fan of mountaineering would better know the hardship and difficulties to climb a height of several thousand meters above sea level than ordinary people. Knowing the hardships, Wang Xuyang was still attracted by mountaineering. After professional training, Wang Xuyang set his goal to conquer the highest peaks on five continents of the world. Since 2014, he has successfully climbed up to the “king of Africa”----Mount Kilimanjaro (5895 meters above sea level), “the top of Europe”----Mount Elbrus (5642 meters above sea level), the highest peak of South America---- Peak Aconcagua (6926 meters above sea level) and Puncak Jaya in Oceania (4884 meters above sea level). And he gradually conquered the Rev Kyrgyz Peak in beautiful Tibet (6206 meters above sea level), Mount Everest, north slope of Mount Everest (7028 meters above sea level) and the sixth highest peak of the world----Chooyu Peak (8201 meters above sea level).

Wang Xuyang said, “I like to do things to their best. After conquering the “king of Africa”----Mount Kilimanjaro in 2014, I decided to climb up the top of Mount Everest and have to climb it from the North Slope in China."

To achieve this dream, Wang Xuyang spent a lot of efforts, of which the success of climbing a mountain above an altitude of more than 8000 meters is one of the essential conditions. Secondly, climbing the Mount Everest must be approved by the General Administration of Sport of China.

Last December, after the approval of the General Administration of Sports of China, Wang Xuyang's dream of climbing up the top of Mount Everest finally started. Late last December, he went to Four Girls Mountain in Chengdu for centralized training to simulate the climbing of the three steps of the northern slope of Mount Everest. In mid April this year, he went to Tibet to carry out adaptive centralized closed training.

When all the preparations were done, Wang Xuyang and his teammates began to climb Mount Everest. And at 7:17 on May 16th, he was up to the top of the world. “Life is always about to overcome all kinds of difficulties. There is a mountain in everyone’s heart. Only when we try and leap can we see beautiful scenery on its top. And the process of overcoming ourselves is the process of crossing,” said Wang Xuyang.
