The movie tells the tale of two losers who console each other by means of letters. So far, so good. When I read the synopsis I was convinced that the story was interesting so I went ahead and watched it. The movie itself however didn't seem to deliver in that regard. Instead I ended up watching another one of those "too crazy for you"-type of animated movies. Somehow all of the recent animated movies have become a parody of the genre itself. All characters are completely over-exaggerated and ridiculous ergo unbelievable. Considering how one of the most important aspects of storytelling is the aspect of believability it's definitely not a good thing in this particular case. It's too stylized for its own good. The first half of the movie is really good but then it get's too crazy. I really didn't like how the movie changed its course midway through. I mean, the story itself had a lot of potential. It just wasn't harnessed properly.
Final verdict: children might enjoy this movie
