47 Metres Down Review (WARNING SPOILERS)

Hello all, so today I'm going to be reviewing the 2017 film, '47 Meters Down,' which has recently been released in cinemas in the UK.

I actually saw the trailer for this film a while back and had been wanting to see it ever since. I finally got round to watching it yesterday and it definitely didn't disappoint. If you haven't heard of the film, let me give you a little insight as to what it's about:

Two sisters, Kate and Lisa are on holiday in Mexico. Adventurous Kate persuades the nervous and cautious Lisa into going scuba diving in a shark tank so that they can see the sharks up close. However, when they are in the cage in the water, there is a malfunction in the equipment that is attaching the cage to the boat and it drops, you guessed it, 47 meters down onto the ocean floor. The terrified girls are clinging on to dear life and must try to make their escape, whilst coping with the low pressure and being surrounded by man eating great white sharks!

This film was a horror/thriller. It wasn't very scary (which was right up my street) but it constantly had me in suspense and on the edge of my seat, as any good thriller should do. I thought that the camera shots and acting were very impressive despite the majority of the film being shot under water. I think the whole idea and scenario was very original, as there have been many shark movies, but none quite like this. I thought that the reactions of the girls was a bit unrealistic. I mean, yes they panic at first but then they seem to calm down very quickly and begin to think rationally on how to make their escape. Not going to lie, if I was in that situation I'd just panic and use up all my oxygen by breathing so quickly!

My favorite part about the entire film was the ending. In my opinion, any good film needs a twist, and the twist in this film is as follows: Lisa and Kate appear to have survived and although severely injured, they make it back to the surface and onto the boat. However... it is later revealed that this is a hallucination and that Kate really was killed by the shark earlier on. It's very shocking and heart breaking, as Lisa is left in the cage at the bottom of the ocean on her own after just seeing her sister's death. It was quite touching that one of them survived however... although also a bit predictable. You know in these sort of movies that if there are two people, one's going to be killed off and the other will survive... it's just how it works.

I'd rate this movie a 7/10 and would definitely recommend that you go and see it if you haven't already! If you enjoyed this post, please make sure you give it an upvote and a resteem! I have seen this film. It is exciting and nice. I thought that the sharks do not leave the site when there is food for them, but in this film, the sharks come and go like patrols :)

I saw the trailer as well and thought that it looked good, I think I'll go and see it based on your review :-)
