Hello friends cinephiles!. I present my retro-movie segment of today to relive those good memories of those movies and that marked a beautiful time.
Today I will share "Pulp Fiction", is a 1994 American film directed by Quentin Tarantino. It is starring John Travolta, Uma Thurman, Bruce Willis and Samuel L. Jackson, among others. Due to his eclectic dialogues, his ironic combination of humor and violence, and his multiple cinematographic references to pop culture, which were so used later, influenced subsequent films. It is also considered one of the most representative films of cinema made by Tarantino.
Synopsis:
"Jules Winnfield (Samuel L. Jackson, Jackie Brown) and Vincent Vega (John Travolta, Grease) are two hired assassins who work under the feared gangster Marsellus Wallace (Ving Rhames), who entrusts them with the important mission of recovering his mysterious briefcase, which has been stolen".

Curiosities:

  • The suitcase has been the subject of many speculations regarding its content since the suitcase when it is opened emits light. Tarantino affirmed years later that in fact there is "exactly what the spectator wants there to be" (although actually two batteries and light bulbs were used).

  • Vincent's car (John Travolta) was really Tarantino's, and was stolen after the recording.

  • The famous portfolio of Jules (Samuel L. Jackson) was also from Tarantino.

  • Marsellus Wallace's Band-Aid caused many speculations and theories about the film, the fact that Ving Rhames, the actor who gave life to Wallace, cut himself while shaving his head and Tarantino liked it so much how he had left who asked him not to take it off.

  • All actors charged the same, despite the success achieved, Pulp Fiction was a simple independent film with a fairly modest budget of a million and a half dollars. Because of that, most of the stars that appeared in it, such as Bruce Willis or Uma Thurman, recorded the corresponding scenes in the gaps left by the other films they were doing at the time. To adjust the budget, too, all the actors charged the same, "only" $ 20,000 per week. They also received part of the proceeds of the film that ended up reaping $ 214 million dollars at the box office.

  • The scene where Vincent and Jules shoot can see holes in the wall even before a gun is wielded.

  • Originally Jules (Samuel L. Jackson) was going to have a giant afro hair. But the assistant who sent for the wigs did not understand it well and ended up taking something else. Just when they were going to return it, Jackson pointed to an enraged Tarantino that some rapper like Ice Cube wore that kind of hair, and in the end he ended up staying.

  • In the scene in which the Chevy Malibu crashes, in reality the car (which as we know belonged to Tarantino) ended intact, and what appears in the film is actually a model already starry.

  • It premiered in May 1994 at the Cannes Film Festival, where it won the Palme d'Or. It was then awarded the Golden Globe for Best Screenplay and won seven nominations at the 67th Oscar Awards, though only He won the Oscar for the best original screenplay, and he received more than forty international awards and as many nominations. In 2013, the film was considered: cultural, historical and aesthetically significant "by the Library of Congress of the United States and selected for preservation in the National Film Registry.

It's an excellent movie, out of the ordinary. I liked the character of Winston Wolfe.
