Bright turned out to be one of my favourite movies of last year. 2017 produced a lot of great movies, but really, Bright holds a special spot in my list because of its unexpected qualities. Surprise twists and turns abound and the special effects are absolutely top notch.
I’m sure at some level, as actor like Will Smith must have something in his contract that allows him to sign off on a film like this. A lot of actors have been sold a script ‘bill of goods’ that looked fantastic on paper and turned out to be a career altering ball of cheese.
I would expect nothing but the best in a movie he is involved in with epic movies behind him like Wild Wild West and iRobot. Love me some Asimov.
If there is any chance you’ve not seen this movie and you like being surprised and really entertained then this may be the movie for you. It’s not entirely for the faint of heart and is graphic in many ways so be warned! If you watch this cold without looking at a trailer, you’re in for a fun ride.
I love pretty much anything and everything that Noomi Rapace is involved in too. Great cast, great cinematography, terrific directing, fantastic effects. Just awesome.

Oh no, that was even worse.
and do not misunderstand me, fantasy is my favourite genre. I grew up playing rolegames, owning a comic book store, even playing "Changelling" which is the closest thing I remember to "Bright" but there is a lack of "high magic thrill in them". They feel more like action movies and well they are entertaining but just as popcorn flicks very much forgettable.
