1975's epic masterpiece, The Man Who Would be King, starring Sean Connery and Michael Caine, is an underrated film gem.
With an all-star cast and a great premise, this film will entertain and delight you. Sean Connery and Michael Caine play soldiers who have dishonerably left the army and seek to become leaders over a country where Connery is mistaken for a god.
The performances are very well done, and there are many memorable scenes. They don't make movies like this anymore. A key trait of older films that ended in the 1990s is character development. Characters that are likeable trump special effects any day.
