Movie Review - Middle Man

in movie •  6 years ago

This movie is peculiar. We like peculiar. A semi serious fat accountant guy sets out for Vegas to start a career as a comedian. Things quickly go sideways with an odd set of characters to boot. We like odd characters.

One of the best parts of the movie is when they have to bury a body in the desert. This is more difficult than it sounds. As they drive away they see the sign about that land being a construction site for a new casino. Which means they have to dig the body out and move it elsewhere. Poor semi serious fat accountant guy.

Under the craziest of circumstances his career starts to take off. The material he uses is actually drawn from the morbid events happening to him. It somehow works, the audiences love it. We like dark humor.

While we are not familiar with the cast everyone did a great job. The writer, Ned Crowley, only has one other movie to his credits in IMDB, a romantic comedy from 2008, 8 years earlier than this one. A quick check and he appears to be around 60 years old so we don't know how many scripts he's got left in him.

There are elements of both Natural Born Killers and A Serious Man seasoned with an indie flavor, quite the combination.

4.2 out of 5 Farts for this one. We want more.
