Fire and Ice produced in the elaborate Rotoscoping procedure: Genuine actors were filmed and then overprinted picture by picture for this Time very innovative.
What is Rotoscoping?
Rotoscoping is when Real actors were filmed and then picture by picture overdraw.The technique Rotoscoping is quite straight forward- it involves the capturing of a video or picture that is later traced over/ used as a stencil to animate over. This makes animations look more realistic as they are practically animated copies of the real world images and videos etc..
Unfortunately, the film was a failure although he was very expensive for the Time.

Now back to the Film Fire and Ice.....The Story
The movie plays in the time of the year, where there are metal weapons and stone age animals.

The evil queen Juliana and her son Lord Nekron are the rulers of the ice. To subdue the people they fight with black magic and deadly cold against Jarol, the king of the light and the fire, which has its seat in the fire castle.

Because of the ice age that Lord Nekron has made over the earth, and his cruel army of demigods, people flee to the fire castle of King Jarol. While Nekron pushes the ice southward by telekinetic forces, his mother pursues parallel targets and lets Jarol's daughter Teegra be kidnapped by her dark foes.

She is to become the wife of Necons, bear sons to him, and, as a hostage, force Jarol to give up his resistance to Nekron. While Teegra escaped her kidnappers, the young warrior Larn sets out on the way south after his tribe was destroyed by Nekrons fighters

On the way, he is followed by a mysterious horseman who helps him in some dangerous situations. After a while, Larn meets Teegra and they try to escape together the nekons' hijackers. However, they are separated by the attack of a large sea monster. The unconscious Larn is taken by the mysterious rider while Teegra falls into the hands of the kidnappers again. When Larn awakens, the rider reveals himself as a "Darkwolf" who leads a personal campaign against Nekron and fights his opponents with the help of magical and animal forces. While Teegra is taken to Nekron's fortress after a few detours, Larn and "Darkwolf" set off on the way to Jarol's fortress to discuss with him what must be done to ward off Nekron's onslaught.

During the defense, many of the dragon riders fall, and "Darkwolf" can reach Nekrons chamber at the last moment and make him harmless in a decisive battle while Larn Teegra frees.
As Nekron power collapses, bursts also its Frosthold whereby Nekron mother also comes to death. At the last moment, Jarol leaves the fortress free, destroying Necons glaciers and their army. Larn and Teegra have escaped the destruction shortly before. When she finds a single survivor of Nekron's army Larn kills him with a stone. At the last moment, Teegra holds him back and lets the terrified man take good care and mildness. They recognize on a hill the "Darkwolf", which smiles at them friendlyly and finally draws its way
