Review

It is not a great movie exactly by any means, you may find it impressive & exciting only if you are getting yourself into it. But it is a movie of zero cleverness, even in a recent interview I discovered Jason Statham in a very diplomatic conversation & he wasn’t seemed very happy enough. Action sequences with the sharks were great but you would guess everything at the end. Visual effects used in action scenes was very impressive. It was all about Jason Statham vs a 70-feet long giant shark, that’s all.

Story

Naval captain Jonas Taylor unfortunately got discharge from his job after encountering an unexplored recesses of the Mariana Trench which forced him to abort his mission & abandon many of his crews few years ago. Few years later, he was again recruited by a Chinese oceanographer to save her crews, ocean & people from a giant 75ft long shark Megadolon (which was believed to live 23 to 2.6 million years ago). The crews were involved in research with Billionaire Jack Morris & his fiancé, Dr. Minway Zhang at Mana One. Suyin (the oceanographer) almost got killed by a giant squid, but a massive shark killed it. Taylor reached trapped submersible & rescued 2 of their crews but he had to sacrifice another member. Meanwhile Suyin’s daughter discovered the Megadolon again & that time the crew members poisoned it. Suyin was trapped while the mission & Taylor revived her. Taylor doubted that the shark’s teeth didn’t matchup with the previous shark. Within a very short period, another giant Megadolon rose up from the water & killed their crews before devouring the smaller poisoned shark. At the evening, while a operation to destroy the Megadolon, crews realized that it was moving towards a crowded beach. Mana One crews played an audio to move the shark’s attention towards them after killing many people. After several attempts, they were able to stab the Megadolon in its eye with a harpoon. Then other sharks of that area devoured that Megadolon.
