Do you remember the cow in the wellies? Oh, man, how can one forget those? And the falling porcelain soldier? So many good memories.

Just like Airplane, this movie is a total stupid ride through East-Germany, deep behind the Iron Curtain.

The stroy short: American rock star Nick(Val Kilmer), visits a festival in Easst-Germany to make a concert but soon he ends up in the resistance, of course because of a strange girl, and he has to get into a prison/castle to rescue her scientist father, Dr. Flammond.

Of course, it is not an easy ride. The ballet scene and the introduction of the Resistance is priceless. So many visual jokes and political and cultural references are in this movie, that you should watch it many times. I did it like 10 times.

Have you seen Omar Shariff in a pressed car looking like a can of fish? You will, if you watch this movie.

There is a side story, almost like the Blue Lagoon, but ends different.

Val Kilmer debuted on screen in this movie in 1984 and I think this is his best. This one is Highly recommended. David Zucker, Jerry Zucker and Jim Abrahams did an other fantastic movie after Airplane. First it was 2 hours long but after some test-screening they cut out 30 minutes. I would like to see that!
