I really can’t decide if I like this or not. It was a decent flick but ultimately very surface level I thought. I tried reading the novel way back when but couldn’t finish it. The movie was very different anyway. The pop culture stuff was just to show, there was no exploration of why it mattered, or why it matters to all of us in the real world. It made some platitudinous statements toward the end but ultimately it was not all that meaningful.

It looked good, flowed well but left me feeling kind of empty. And is it an animated film? The performances were good for the most part in the live action sections and well captured for the animated stuff I guess.

Pleasant entertainment but meaningless.
