Star Trek = Deep Fat Fried

Tonight, my podcast, Deep Fat Fried, took on one of the most influential and even controversial Science Fiction franchises of all time. In this episode we take a brief look at the life of Gene Roddenberry, before reviewing each Star Trek series and offering up our thoughts on each of the 13 films.

If you're looking to kill some time with a trio of stoner degenerates, check out Deep Fat Fried on YouTube. Or check out our audio version on the following platforms:

@tjkirk This is the first podcast of yours I've watched and mate thanks so much for posting on Star Trek, I'm only 17mins in and I've just finished watching the Lt Uhuru interview. love the quote "when Martin Luther king tells you not to quit, you don't quit."

Is it no longer ok to use "mem" anymore? =D

@tjkirk - I think it's deeply ironic that here you are on Steemit and Scotty and Paul can't see the vision. You have partaken of the blockchain. The blockchain won't unite humanity. The blockchain will disintermediate authority by creating a massive equity drain in national fiat. This platform is about decentralization.

Anyway, welcome to Steemit!

You ultimately have two types of technocracy that can happen and sadly Star Trek fits neither model.

Centralized technocracy is your Blade Runner style future. The real dystopian shit where corporations / government own everything and nobody can do anything. The Borg and Terminator are also highly plausible scenarios when going down this path. Aliens would be instantly fucked if they showed up in this scenario as would employ a bug hunting military and show them some fear.

Decentralized technocracy is one where everyone abides by the technology but nobody really controls it. So we all just end up in some kind of libertarian scenario where it becomes increasingly difficult to form any kind of leadership at all and by the time we do Borg / Terminator / aliens show up and fuck us before we have a chance to defend ourselves.

Or the aliens are also probably in a similar technocracy in which we end up in a melting pot. Which would be the closest to Star Trek as possible but the least likely. Borg and terminator are most likely scenarios. Which means Aliens would be shitfucked right away.

Blockchain is part of the decentralized technocracy.

I think both of you are just slightly overestimating the power of blockchains.

I'm a little floaty tonight and read your comment as "equity drain in national fat." The rest of the guys will be over soon enough, and then the WORLD! Muah-hah-hah-hah.

Redemption 2 is one of my favorite episodes, and it has an amazing Data plotline where he takes his first command of a ship. I'd say Data maybe has the most memorable moments in the show for me.

Tj please do a DFF on The Secret... Being forced to watch this garbage on Netflix.

Star Trek is something you either get or you don't. Too many people aren't capable of critically examining society. Star Trek isn't for the masses because of the large portion of the population that's retarded... or just too focused on their own shit.

Qapla' TJ!

what's this? lol

Steemit has some weird shit with the stuff people post lol

I think he copied it from an online novel or something. The dude probably can't speak or write English so he copied someone else's hoping to get lucky and get an upvote. Heck I even got a comment on a dlive gaming post saying that it was a "great article".

I never got into Star Trek. Maybe it was the German dubbing that put me off in the first place... #90s #lifebeforenetflix

What would be a good entry point if I wanted to give it another try now?

What lights are Paul and Scotty using in their studio? Looks very cool.

Difference between trekker and trekkie?

Lol @tjkirk steemit is just great for you and your interesting contents!
Nice post

Felt more energy in this episode of Deep Fat Fried than in previous ones, maybe it was the subject matter that kept motivated the hosts ^^

There was a lot of goofs and gaffs.

Thank you for that evening of loose fuckery and laugh.

Tj felt particularly happy throughout this episode, nice to see that much more energy in you TJ, past months and week you looked less motivated and tired, maybe depressed by the youtube situation too.

Looks like the Steemit freedom of expression while still being able to rightfully monetize gave you a second breath ^^ ( but it could only be the subject matter of this episode and i am mistaken :p )

Anyway it really looks like it took out 5 years out of misery and sadness from your shoulders these last few videos, free and unhinge the comedic talent of the prodigy / genius child in you express itself more freely.

It's really nice at least to see you can make videos where you can care way less about suppressing yourself.

I like DFF, hope you move the show to this platform too one day, I really want to dump YT and I need all my subs to move here. :P

Hello tjkirk..... Here again with your awesome post.....i always believe in you....welcome once again to steemit....continue your good work friend....hard work pays....

Just finished it on the other channel, excellent series overview! Really enjoyed this episode. Can't wait to see future episodes on Star Trek. Keep up the excellent work!

Upvoted & following!

I do think that you should have watched some of the shows you hadn’t or read up on it.
Seeing how it was mainly just a discussion about Star Trek, and it’s manny ressurections.

But I really did enjoy the episode over all, good work gentlemen!

I am watching the movie. Hope it's enjoyable.

I love this new show, Cant wait to see what you guys tackle every week
