Welcome
Hey Steemians! It is almost the weekend! Yay! To add to this excitement, I have a rom com coming your way! The hilarious "The Holiday" is what today's blurb is all about.
The Holiday(2006)
Actors: Cameron Diaz, Kate Winslet, Jude Law
Director: Nancy Meyers
Two successful women who are both from different countries have one similarity. They are both in desperate need of a holiday after a horrific heart break. Iris is from Britain and Amanda Woods is from Los Angeles in America. They get chatting on an online platform and decide to swap houses for a much needed change of atmosphere over the Christmas holidays.
When Amanda Woods arrives at Iris's cottage house in Britain, she is taken by surprise how different the house is to her lavish home in Los Angeles. She is relieved to be free of her daily duties and instead, enjoys the peace and quiet of the country side of Britain. However, her peace is disturbed by Iris's brother,Graham, who was unaware that Iris is spending her Christmas in America. It all began as a hilarious mishap but it led to both of them talking continuously to the point where they discover that they have a huge connection. It is not long before they fall in love with each other. This is Amanda letting her hair down, enjoying a few drinks too many and singing the anthem on a night out, you guessed it "Mr. Brightside" by the Killers.
Across the other side of the Atlantic, Iris is blown away by Amanda's mansion fitted with the best technological devices. She loves the house and is able to do whatever she wants. She can go for a swim in the swimming pool or watch a movie from Amanda's wide range of movies(My dream). However, Iris meets a local man that she falls helplessly in love with. She didn't expect to find love as it is in the most unlikely place.
What will happen to their holiday romances? Is it truly love or is it just a rebound?
