I know I am behind the curve compared to many of you on here as I only just recently saw the film Logan.

Here are some of my thoughts on the film:

The film is by far the darkest of the Wolverine/X-men films. Correct me if I am wrong but I think it is the only one with an R rating, and boy did it deserve it.

There was more gore and cursing in the first 10-15 minutes than all the other ones combined.

Personally, before I saw the film I was happy to hear that it got an R rating. It made me want to watch it more than I otherwise would have. 

In general I am not a huge fan of the super hero genre so giving it an R rating made me feel like it would probably be closer to real life.

Well as close as you can get to real life when you are talking about a mutant that has super human powers.

However...

And this is a big "however", I felt like the swearing and gore was way over the top. It was almost like they didn't show any of that for the first 4-5 movies so they felt they had to pile as much as they could into this one film. 

Not my cup of tea.

I want to see a little of it but not to that extreme. I like some things left to the imagination.

Every couple of words was the F word and every fight scene had someone's limbs or head being cut off. Sometimes less is more and this is a perfect example.

Overall, I thought the story line was interesting, although slightly predictable.

It definitely was the darkest of any of the previous films and it appears to be the final chapter in the series. Although I am sure they could find a way to extend it if they want to.

I give the film *** stars out of ***** stars.
