Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham to star in 'Fast and Furious' spinoff

Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham will be front and center in a Fast & Furious spinoff for Universal Studios, a person familiar with the negotiations but not authorized to speak publicly tells USA TODAY.

After a year of speculation over a story offshoot for the uber-successful speedy car franchise, Universal officially announced Thursday that the untitled spinoff is coming to theaters on Friday, July 26, 2019.
