Netflixing: Death Note (2017)

I mean it is a fair assessment to say that this film is not very good but I think it's way far off to say it's worse than Dragonball Evolution. Dragonball Evolution literally has no redeeming qualities whatsoever from start to finish, Death Note does. Any scene involving Ryuk, the death sequences, the score by Atticus Ross (not the soundtrack) and the cinematography/editing was actually quite competent if not good (I'd say it's good), the problem with the film is what it focuses on and what it doesn't, the psychological mind games between Light and L I thought were rather compelling but they focused so much on this dumb love story between Light and Mia that it detracted from the movie. Also the acting was sometimes really bad but it definitely was not Dragonball Evolution level bad.

Well, then, it's a good thing I never said it was worse than Dragonball: Evolution.

You said it under your heading "Not (Entirely) Netflix's Fault"
