Going To The Movies in Mexico, Contributed by @TangerineTravels

Back in the US, we went to the movies all the time! In fact, we had something called MoviePass which allowed us to go to as many as one movie per day. Despite having been in Mexico for nearly three months, we have yet to visit a movie theater.

We got some recommendations from our YouTube subscribers to visit a VIP movie theater. They said it's quite the experience!

We thought that was a great idea! But, it turns out there isn't a VIP theater close to us, so we went to one of the cheaper theaters instead.

We'll have to make a video about the VIP movie experience another day.

The theater was about a 15-minute walk from our Airbnb and we found a café on the way where we were able to grab some breakfast. Our plates were a little more than we'd like to pay for breakfast at 90 and 95 pesos each ($4.99 and $5.27 USD).

Our movie, Ready Player One, was showing at 1:50 pm so we got the matinee price of 60 pesos per ticket ($3.33 USD).

We didn't know if our movie was going to be in Spanish or English. Nor did we know whether it would be with or without subtitles. We didn't realize until afterward that it says so under each movie title. In the above photo, "Subtitulada" means it will be in English with Spanish subtitles. "Español" means it will be 100% in Spanish.

Most of the movies at this theater are in English with Spanish subtitles. Good to know for future visits to the theater.

It was 60 pesos if the movie was before 3:00 pm or 74 pesos after 3. There are also discounts for children and students.

If you're a member of the Cinepolis loyalty program, on Tuesday they offer 2 for 1 movie tickets.

You can get a popcorn, soda, and candy bar for 130 pesos ($7.21 USD). We thought this was pretty reasonable considering a similar combo would exceed $15 in the US.

Their biggest and baddest combo is 242 pesos ($13.42 USD). It includes a popcorn, hot dog, nachos, and 2 sodas.

We hope this post gives you an idea of what it's like to go to the movies in Mexico. We didn't know what to expect with language, cost, concession, or anything else, so hopefully, this gave you some valuable information.

We were very happy with our experience at this theater and are curious to know what a VIP theater will be like. I have a feeling we might become regulars at the movies once again!

Lol I struggled to pronounce Guadalajara till @tangerinetravels helped out, even bit my tongue a few times. Things are quite affordable in Mexico and I don't mind hitting the movies when I do visit

This is amazing. Meals or snacks at theatres are always a bit inflated, even here. Glad you enjoyed it and sure you enjoyed the movie too. You might soon get a movie pass here too. Hahaha. Good one.

This is VIP treatment really. You sure had great fun with the movie and food @tangerinetravels. What a beautiful place this is. Popcorn all the way. Hahahah
Big weldone to you @communitycoin Gracias
