Here I discuss the primary politics-based conflicts in Black Panther, specifically the conflict between Ethnonationalism (exhibited by T'Challa and the fiction African Atlantis of Wakanda) and Pan-racial supremacy (exhibited by Killmonger, the antagonist). These two perspectives are also derived from two experiences - the true tribal experience of Africa, and the American experience, which emphasizes race, since ethnic and tribal identity were destroyed through the process of slavery.
