In theaters of entertainment, we gather in thrall,
Seeking escape from life's mundane call.
Yet in our haste for amusement and delight,
We seldom pause to ponder on life's weighty plight.

A case in point, a film that sought to please,
Godsend, a thriller, with a tale of cloned ease.
A grieving couple, their son's life cut short,
Find solace in cloning, a second chance to rebirth.

Dr. Wells, a scientist with knowledge vast,
Offers the couple a chance to relive the past.
But as the clone grows, his vision blurs and twists,
His behavior darkens, in a tale of cloned existence.

The film's director, Nick Hamm, tries to imbue,
With scenes of beauty, and young Cameron Bright, anew.
Yet, Robert De Niro's presence weighs heavy on the mind,
A once-revered actor, now a cautionary sign.

The script, by Mark Bomback, fails to shine,
A blend of values, with technology's decline.
Implausible scenarios and twists, abound,
An ending unsatisfying, a lackluster sound.

We leave the theater, with ninety minutes wasted,
Wishing for our time, to be reclaimed and hastened.
A cautionary tale, of what we seek in vain,
A thoughtful exploration, in Hollywood's game.
