Doom Annihilated

Filling in time, I watch Doom Annihilation today. Another woman good, man bad movie. I wish the people who make this dross would take the time to watch the movie Alien in order how to properly frame a good movie. The men who survive almost to the end of the movie are portrayed as villains, cowards or cucks. The most egregious portrayal was a man as a coward. One of the soldiers was repeatedly abandoning his teammates when they engaged the creatures. In other movies, men are frequently portrayed as cowards and women are portrayed as hysterical. I cannot see a seasoned soldier acting like a coward. There training puts them beyond that possibility especially if they are in an elite unit. While they might shut down, I cannot imagine anyone running away repeatedly in a combat situation.

The other thing that struck me is that there were three women in this "elite" team. One example of an elite team is the SAS. For a man to qualify, he must march 40 miles within 20 hours carrying 60 lbs (over 27 kg), a rifle (another 15 lbs) and a full container of water. Following the march, the candidate must run another 4 miles within 30 minutes. Perhaps this is a less than an elite team ... women do qualify to be in the marines. I just have to shake my head sometimes not at the women in the marines, but that the movie industry cannot give a realistic representation of women and men who achieve this standard.
