Yeah Enchantress was too good an opponent to be taken down in the first one ...
Yes. There are other oppponents. I'm just thinking that the Suicide Squad is not optimized for fighting that level of Big Bad. Big supernatural threats are supposed to be for the Justice League.
The Squad is supposed to handle black ops missions: assassinations, regime destabilization, stealing prototype weapons and mystical artifacts -- like a dark-side A-Team with metahumans.
I so wish "toilet-on-fire" was original to me. Warren Ellis is a genius and Planetary is amazing.
Re: timelines: In the setting, Superman's death happened before the start of the Suicide Squad movie. Yet Waller sold the squad to the Joint Chiefs as an anti-Kryptonian measure. Obviously bullshit and she should have been called on it.
His death happening during the movie would have given us an opportunity to see Waller have to dance between the raindrops for a bit, to play a bad hand brilliantly like Adelle DeWitt.
Justice League was not yet in play!
Anti-kryptonian not anti-superman, the necessity of such a measure is the likes of Zod and Doomsday and with big S out of commission and growing number of metahumans they needed a disposable squad to take care of one way missions.
I know just funny that you used that description. 😁 (t-o-f)
The 'timelines' I'm talking of is that there'll be a few movies before the next Justice League and they want to be able to have wiggle room with various characters. But you're on to something though, guess we should have seen more. 👍
