So, how would you describe M. Night Shyamalan as a director? I think when he's good, he's very good; and when he's bad, he's very bad. Therefore, when I stepped foot inside the theatre I really didn't know what to expect. Turns out, he didn't disappoint. "Glass" is a bewildering and clever finale to the Eastrail 177 Trilogy that will satisfy fans but confuse casual moviegoers. If you're expecting a superhero movie with over-the-top action and astonishing set pieces, I have to say you are terribly wrong. "Glass" is not your typical superhero movie, it is a drama that explores the theme of belief. For those who are interested in watching this movie, if you haven't watched "Split" or "Unbreakable", you will not understand the story or the characters, so I advise you to watch a quick recap video on YouTube.

One criticism I have is the slow pacing in the first third of this movie, particularly the scenes in the institution for the insane. However, the big twist in the end pays off and has genuinely shocked me. On the plus side, James McAvoy is amazing - I loved his performance in "Split" and this time he's more into the character. (Just give this man an Oscar. He deserves it.) One thing to note is the colour code Shyamalan uses in the film, which is prominent throughout the whole film, adds to the eerie atmosphere of the movie. All in all, "Glass" is a entertaining blockbuster that will leave the audience mesmerised by the time the credits roll.

Plot synopsis: Security guard David Dunn hunts down Kevin, a man with 24 personalities, by using his superpowers, and both are captured by authorities and kept in a n institution along with Elijah Price, who plans an escape to show the world what they are capable of.
[This movie is rated PG-13. It contains mild language, violence and has scenes that may frighten children. Nothing sexual is present.]
Rating: 8/10
