Hey Guys,
Just finished Point Blank, the Keanu, Pat Swayze, Gary Busey flick. The movie was good but that’s neither here nor there. I’m here to talk through a question I had during the movie. Near the end, Pat Swayze looks at Keanu and says “see you in the next life”, and I almost believe him when he says it. Here’s the questions it poses:
- Is there an afterlife?
- Is it based around reincarnation?
- Can two souls be so radically intertwined, that they will undoubted meet in the next life?
A lot to take in. Pat Swayze kills it, and this write up should be a sentiment to ask, he and his character made me ask these questions. For the sake of the conversation we must assume the first two questions are true. No sense, in arguing unless we know what were arguing.
It’s beautiful and unprovable, what a conundrum!? Beautiful in that two people can share such a bond that one lifetime isn’t enough, and even that’s not correct. it is a sense of time and space revolving around these two people. And what if everyone’s life revolves around this concept? Maybe you have or haven’t already found this person or people, but they person exists. I think it is both platonic and sexual, as in you can have soulmates of both types.
Bottom line I just like the idea of someone so exactly me walking around somewhere else, and what that would be like. And lastly, I like to think that person is already my best friend.
