Netflixing: Johnny English Reborn

hey, @talanhorne.

I admit, it's been a while since I've seen the first Johnny English movie, but the way you describe the second one is more or less the same way I would describe the first one. Things that can go wrong, do go wrong, and English ends up in rather predictable situations. But because it's Rowan Atkinson, it's okay. I'm not sure why his humor doesn't translate from television to movies, but somewhere in the differences of the processes (and probably the length of each), things get lost in translation.

However, there must be enough people watching to order up a third one. I wasn't even aware that's what this latest one was. I assumed it was the second, since I've obviously missed it. I don't think I will be rushing out to get either one very soon, but could watch it if I run out of enough other movies. :)

Apparently, Johnny English Reborn was a flop at the box office. I'm not sure how a third movie was greenlighted.

Of course, Rowan Atkinson has a lot of goodwill following him around. And maybe he's just as easy to work with as he is easy to watch. I don't know. But I'm not upset that he gets to keep making these movies, if it makes him happy.
