Detroit is one of the most frustrating films of 2017. The film is a historical look at what happened in the famed Algiers Motel in the 60's. And while other films may end on a somewhat happier note (Malcom X), there is almost no joy at all to be found in the film. It is a downer to say the least...and VERY difficult to watch. I almost turned off my computer so many times, because I was so angry. And there are no good guys in this film, either. There are only villains and victims. It is a true horror story.
