Movies are one of those magical inventions that brings together people from all over the world and from all walks of life. Every online social platform has vast and vibrant communities of movie lovers. Who doesn't like movies, after all? Some love the superhero films, while others go for more eclectic cinema; and everything in between.

So, why not Steemit? I have been curious since day one - what kind of movies do Steemians like? I had to give it a shot - let's find out. A good ol' fashioned popularity contest.

How to participate

All you need to do is write a comment with your Top 10 movies of all time. There are no real rules, it can be a feature film from 1905, a short film from 2016 or a documentary from Turkmenistan. Just no TV shows, please. It could also be a Top 5 if you prefer, but no less than 5 and no more than 10. Lists can be ranked or unranked, but please mention.

100% of all liquid rewards earned from this post will be equally distributed to all commenters. Call it participation rewards, shall we?

The Process

Comments will be tallied for the next 48 hours till 3rd Mar 12 PM UTC. The top movies list will then be announced on 3rd and 4th Mar. It could be a Top 10 or a Top 50 - just depends on how many samples we get.

Very simple - I shall keep adding everyone's picks to a spreadsheet. Each entry gets a vote, the top ones win. For ranked lists, the entries will be weighted by rank. In the future we could perhaps have a more weighted system, but this will do for starters.
