Daria, a show that ran on MTV from 1997-2001, was my favorite thing to watch when I was a kid. From snarky, deadpan comebacks to dissecting the teenage wasteland that was the late 90's this show had it all for me.

This show taught me many things, but the biggest thing I walked away with was a view of the world that wasn't quite like everyone else's. I never trusted commercials or famous people to tell me how to live my life and what to buy, I decided on my own. Popularity was never as important as being honest. Being understood was more satisfying than being accepted.
I appreciated that MTV put a calm, rational, smart girl on TV. In an age of Dawson's Creek and Party of Five, Daria (along with a few other shows that I'll cover in another post) gave me a haven from the "all teenage girls are mental" shows. This show was a healthy dose of reality in a world that was slowly going mad.
All in all this show was great and just what I needed during those crazy teenage years. I highly recommend it to anyone and especially recommend it for any preteen/teenage girl living in this sick sad world.
Used to remember watching this show too!
