Everything You Need To Know About Justice League (2017)

in movies •  7 years ago  (edited)

Hello movie marauders! Justice League is set to release November 17, 2017, and is taking place after the events of Batman v. Superman. Batman v. Superman was not a good movie at all, so hopefully Justice League will be better. Zack Snyder (director of Batman v. Superman) is directing Justice League. He had to leave the movie while it is in post-production to take care of family issues. Joss Whedon (director of The Avengers/Avengers: Age Of Ultron/rumored to be directing a Batgirl movie) is taking over for Zack Snyder. Justice League is still going to be Zack Snyder's vision. This Justice League movie will have Batman, Wonder Woman, Cyborg, Aquaman, The Flash, and Superman (coming back from the dead). These heroes will all get their own origin stories. Wonder Woman and Superman have already gotten theirs. Let's take a look at more of the cast, plot, and who the villain is! [Click the video below to watch the Justice League trailer!!]

Cast

This is the main cast in Justice League. I also wrote which superhero's universe the character is in because it can get confusing.

Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne/Batman

Gal Gadot as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman

Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry/Aquaman

Ezra Miller as Barry Allen/The Flash

Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman

Ray Fisher as Victor Stone/Cyborg

Robin Wright as Antiope (From Wonder Woman)

Connie Nielsen as Queen Hippolyta (From Wonder Woman)

Amber Heard as Mera (From Aquaman)

Amy Adams as Lois Lane (From Superman)

Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor (From Superman)

J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon (From Batman)

J.K. Simmons wanted to reprise his role as J. Jonah Jameson in the MCU but is unable to because he will be in the DCEU.

Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth (From Batman)

Ciaran Hinds as Steppenwolf

Diane Lane as Martha Kent (From Superman)

Kiersey Clemons as Iris West (From The Flash)

If you watch The Flash on The CW, Iris West is played by Candice Patton.

Plot

Batman is inspired by Superman's selfless act in Batman v. Superman (sacrificing himself to kill Doomsday) and has a new respect for him. A new enemy awakens, causing Batman to team up with Wonder Woman to find more metahumans to take down this new threat (Steppenwolf-who will be discussed in the next section of this article). Steppenwolf and his group of Parademons (who we saw in the dream sequence of Batman v. Superman)

are hunting down the  3 Mother Boxes. Mother Boxes are all-knowing computers that are alive created by the New Gods-which Darkseid is a member of. The Mother Boxes are cared for by the Atlanteans, Amazonians, and humans. Steppenwolf fights Wonder Woman for the Amazonian Mother Box, Aquaman for the Atlantean Mother Box, and Batman/Cyborg/The Flash for the human Mother Box (plus Superman who will be returning from the dead). A Superman in a black suit has been hinted by Henry Cavill on Instagram:

This movie is supposed to have some humor, as we saw in the trailer when Barry Allen asks Bruce Wayne what his superpower is--and Batman responds with "I'm rich."

What Does Movie Marauder Think?

I think the plot sounds very interesting. It seems like Justice League has more of a story than Batman v. Superman. There is a whole quest that is going to take place in this movie. I am so excited for some more humor, because the super dark tone of Batman v. Superman was not a good idea. The trailer for Justice League looks very promising, and I can't wait to see all these heroes unite to fight Steppenwolf! Wondering who Steppenwolf is? Read below!!

The Villain: Steppenwolf

Steppenwolf is one of Darkseid's generals (Darkseid is a big bad in DC-kind of like Thanos in Marvel). Steppenwolf has superhuman strength and wields an electro-axe. There was a deleted scene in Batman v. Superman called Communion (click the video below to watch the 45 seconds deleted scene)

It seems like this creature hologram is holding the 3 Mother Boxes, but we don't know for sure. It has been speculated to be Steppenwolf, or Yuga Khan (Darkseid's father). I think it is Steppenwolf because it would make the most sense-- since he is going after the Mother Boxes.

Yuga Khan

Darkseid

Conclusion

Justice League is going to be a very large scale movie. Hopefully it won't include so many aspects that it won't make sense--like Batman v. Superman. I am extremely excited for this film, and I think it will turn out to be one of DC's best superhero films. If Justice League turns out to be a flop, DC is in big trouble.
