Since debuting earlier this summer, Wonder Woman has exceeded many people's expectations and become the highest grossing film of the summer. Along the way, it has surpassed the box office gross of many of the superhero films that have come before it - including, most recently, 20th Century Fox's Deadpool.
Forbes is reporting that Wonder Woman's total worldwide box office gross currently sits at $786 million, meaning it's surpassed the $783.1 million earned by Deadpool.
This isn't the first time that Wonder Woman and Deadpool have interacted over the box office, with Ryan Reynolds sharing a rather hilarious Instagram post in response to the DC Extended Universe film's success. With both films earning sequels - which are set to debut within the next two years - there very well could be more friendly competition amongst those involved with the films.
According to box office projections, Deadpool might not be the only red-suited superhero Wonder Woman stands a chance of beating. The film's domestic box office currently sits at $395 million, giving it the possibility of beating the $403 million earned by Sam Raimi's Spider-Man.
