Black Adam: lack of intereststeemCreated with Sketch.

It seems that the DC Universe is doomed to fail. While the original Shazam was interesting, Black Adam, which seems to happen in the same universe, is just a generic superhero movie.

The people of a Middle East country are oppressed since times immemorial. Their king digs up for a precious mineral that will allow him to make a crown to become invincible. He nearly does, until he's stopped by the Champion. But they both disappear, until the Champion is awakened by the same people some 4000 years later. Much to the US' dismay...

Like most DCEU movies, the plot is pretty generic: a danger comes out, so the US must fight it. The superheroes are generic and without interest - there are even 2 teens without much experience or interest. Black Adam is somewhat of a gray figure, since he doesn't even consider himself a hero.

Also, there are so many plot twists that come out of nowhere (at least for those who don't read the comics) that it becomes ridiculous.

The only redeeming quality is, once again, a display of US foreign policy: stability, local populations be damned. It shows up once more, and with the same bitch from Suicide Squad.

In short, you can skip this movie. It's just another generic superhero movie that brings nothing new to the genre. However charismatic he may be, Dwayne Johnson just can't save this shipwreck. And the humor falls falt
