I lived in the Philippines for 10 years and my girlfriend is Filipina. Do you think the drug war in the Philippines is working? Is the body count worth it?

Lopsided. The poor addicts carry the wrath of the campaign. The rich pusher mostly have backing from authorities whether by blood or mere connection/payroll, drug syndicates. They remain free. Not to mention the foreigner, mostly Chinese, syndicate members are being pampered by due process. While the poor street addicts, who cannot afford to have a lawyer, is labeled “nanlaban”, fought, are dead on the spot.

I believe that the laziest solution to the drug problem/criminality is : Kill them all.

There is a better way.

Agreed, man, lazy is the word for it -- I'm very happy to hear you say that.

What's hard is truly helping the underprivileged without compromising the ideals and values of a civilised modern society.

IMO, government should never kill or endorse killing, just as individual citizens shouldn't. "Greater good" doesn't even matter -- these are questions of principle.

Well said.
