100 Days until Captain Marvel

In order to ease our disappointment that Avengers 4 trailer is nowhere in sight, Marvel has decided to mark the countdown until Captain Marvel with a new motion poster. You can see the motion version of the poster by pressing on the link, or just look at it in still mode below.

Even though the movie is 100 days away, I don't feel any special buzz or particular publicity work around the movie. Maybe it's too fat away, or maybe a movie that will possibly set up phase 4 doesn't need much help.

In order to mark the 100 days until Captain Marvel the movie has gone into reshoots. It's a typical thing for a superhero movie to need reshoots. There is nothing special about it, except for the fact that Gemma Chan has uploaded a picture of herself on set which she titled "back to work..."

Gemma Chan will be playing Minerva. In the trailer we see her on the same team as Captain Marvel, but this may not be the case by the end of the movie. In the comics Minerva is one of Captain Marvel's villains and she might still be one in the movie. The reshoots are probably there to give Gemma Chan a slightly bigger role as her last movie "Crazy Rich Asians" was a box office sensation and Marvel might want to capitalize on their actresses new raising popularity. It will be interesting to see the role that the Kree will play in the movie.

For now all we can do it wait until 8 March, 2019
