Joss Whedon will Not Direct Batgirl

Ok, so he was a bad choice from the start. Really. A lot of people did not like what he did to Black Widow in Avengers: Age of Ultron, so it was surprising that he was hired to direct and write such a strong female movie. Then the Wonder Woman script that he once wrote was leaked online, and it was awful. Especially in comparison with the amazing movie that was eventually created. But such things never bothered Hollywood before, a lot of people who's capabilities are questionable at best are still hired regularly in Hollywood.

Joss Whedon's biggest problem is loyalty. During Avengers: Age of Ultron's press tour he basically dissed Marvel, his boss. Not a great move. Then he left/was replace by the Russo Brothers. Then he was asked to finish Justice League as he was already hired to direct and write Batgirl. WB and as result DC love company loyalty. Something that Whedon is incapable of showing. He didn't join the press tour for Justice League and he even liked on Twitter tweets that dissed the film. Despite his official claims for creative problems, I think that his real problem is that of lack of loyalty.

I also think that it's clear that DC should go the Wonder Woman route and hire a female director. I really hope that it will be one of the directors from XX or Jennifer Kent who wrote and directed The Babadook. Unless the movie will be completely canceled.

didnt know that movie was going to get made. plus he cheated on his wife from what i heard.
i also wrote my spoiler for black panther and was wondering what you thought about my opinion

I heard that he not just cheated on her with the stars of his shows, but that he also emotionally abused her. But, like I wrote, he got fired for more professional reasons. I still didn't see Black Panther, hope to catch it this Saturday.

Personally I was quite looking forward to Joss Whedon's Batgirl, before that announcement the only film from the DC slate I'd been looking forward to was Suicide Squad, and lets be honest that was as much a disappointment as Man of Steel & Batman v Superman. Wonder Woman is literally the only thing that has kept any interest alive for me.

I feel pretty close. Wonder Woman is the only movie that got it right. But I think that Whedon's vision isn't really modern and doesn't fit today's expectation from a movie. I think that for Marvel, we can see that at the end of the day, Kevin Feige is the main drive behind all movies and Whedon isn't really missed.

Yeah maybe, but I've not seen anything Whedon's been involved with that I haven't liked...not seen Justice League yet though, so the jury's still out on that one.

I don't think that's true. I think the consensus about this movie is that it's just ok. Not a disaster like BvS but not as good as a movie with the Justice League could be.
