What Will Happen to Deathstroke in DC Movie Universe?

Remember when DC teased that Deathstroke was teased to appear in The Batman? It appears that that idea died when director Matt Reeves was chosen. Instead, DC continues with their strategy on making random movies and seeing what sticks. This time it’s a Deathstroke solo movie. Which no one asked for.

Sure, there was a lot of interest when Ben Affleck released the short video of Joe Manganiello as Deathstroke, but it was interest revolving around Deathstroke being a possible Batman or even Justice League villain.

I’m sure the character has fans that will be pleased that he is getting his own movie, but he is not the kind of character that will catch the attention and money of mainstream moviegoer. Unless the movie will be amazing.

Joe Manganiello (Magic Mike XXL, True Blood) himself is enough to bring more than a few women to the cinema. Director Gareth Evans is in talks to direct and write the movie. He is mostly known for directing and writing all three Raid movies which certainly have their fans.

Like most DC announcements lately, it’s impossible to know if this movie will actually get made. If it will, I hope that DC will go the Deadpool route (yes, I know that Deadpool is a parody on Deathstroke) and make it a low budget movie. It will spare them the disappointment and leave room for a pleasant surprise.

I hope they integrate "The Light" and the Project Cadmus elements into this. They showed him on the post credits

I’m not familiar with Deathstroke. Sounds like a niche market. Low budget seems like good advice.

He is not familiar to none comic book readers and not DC tv shows watcher. Fans are really excited
about it.
