Dear Steemians,
Here I am back for another film review! The last film I covered was A Quiet Place and now I’ll tell you my opinion on Red Sparrow!
Starring the one and only Jennifer Lawrence, this film has been released early this year and tells us a story of a special Russian intelligence agent – former Ballerina Dominika Egorova (portrayed by Jennifer) – inside the most thrilling kinds of plots in spy films… “Find the mole”!
Of course, the plot involves the CIA and a lot of plot twists that I’m not going to cover for obvious reasons, and the amazing Jennifer Lawrence, which is clearly one of the best actresses around!
Once again, she works with Francis Lawrence (no relation), who, once again, does a good job directing a film with a lot of story. And that’s exactly the reason why I gave this film 8 out of 10: Story.
There are many things that you can add to a film to make it good, but the basic one (and sadly often forgotten -.-) is the story, the plot. Francis Lawrence, based on a book (yes, once again, based on a book -.-), does a good job along with the screen writer Justin Haythe – known for Revolutionary Road – and turns the film into a complicated plot full of twists, distrust and unexpected developments.
This along with the almost perfect job Jennifer Lawrence does, turns the film into a must-seeing for those who love a good spy film!
Regarding the characters of the movie, they’re good, even though the focus is clearly on Dominika Egorova and on the story. So, if you’re eager for a spy film and if you’re a big fan of this genre, this is indeed a good film to watch!
RATING: 8/10
