Carmela Soprano is the wife of Tony Soprano for the entirety of the series. She tends to be a nice person overall, leaving all the tough guy stuff to her husband. From time to time she is a bit conflicted about the morality of her husband's "business" (oficially trash dumping business and construction business, unoficially just about anything else). She initially did not know that Tony Soprano's shrink was actually a woman, a fact that brings some drama once known later on. For the most part she is a dedicated housewife, taking care of the family's house in New Jersey, making sure her two kids go to school, and cooking good meals (supposedly she cooks an amazing ziti - layers of baked pasta with cheese on it). Late in the series there is a brief breakup between her and Tony Soprano but things eventually work out again.

Carmela Soprano is played by actress Edie Falco.
