I liked the movie quite a bit. I found that it raised a lot of philosophical questions about life and society and the concept of A.I. in general.

Everything in Theodores life is impersonal and detached from other humans - his job, his sex life and even his metaphoric child (I.e. the video game character). It was interesting how the A.I. system supplemented that and then eventually came full circle back to connecting with humanity. The idea of A.I. evolving was interesting as well to me.

I thought it had a good mix of concept, philosophy, and character development and overall was a good balance between the intellectual and emotional, which is rare for many new movies.

I see what you're saying about it being much like a black mirror episode. Definitely had that vibe.

I would recommend to see the movie alone, to solely focus on it. With the significant other next to you, distraction is guaranteed. I liked it. I like Joaquin Phoenix as an actor. He plays strange and interesting characters.

Good choice for a movie.
