[KR/EN][V.O.영화보기] #5. 박찬욱 - 쓰리, 몬스터 中 CUT Three... Extremes, Three, Monster, 2004

B급 영화는 황당무계한 도발, 과장된 소품활용, 무논리, 세트 재활용 등 구린 요소들을 떡칠한 가운데서 새로운 아이디어로 승부를 보는 영화입니다. 이런 영화들은 보여지는 이미지가 강렬해야 다른 영화의 재활용이나 폐기처분 요소를 가릴수 있습니다. 그래서 심리적인 요소보다는 강력한 비주얼이 주를 이루게 됩니다.

영화감독(이병헌 분)은 집과 똑같은 세트장을 만들어도 제작사에서 수락할 정도로 성공했습니다. 오프닝에서 뱀파이어가 늙어버린 피를 먹고 체해서 토하는 장면은 이영화의 장르설정과 엔딩을 위한 초석이기도 하고 이면엔 낡고 구린 아이디어일지라도 일단 진행시켜봐야되는 창작자의 고뇌의 엔딩도 암시하고 있는 장면입니다.

집에 돌아온 감독은 정신을 차려보니 꼼짝없이 엑스트라(이원희 분)의 세트장안에 갇힌 신세가 되었습니다. 엑스트라는 착한사람이 부자이기도 하다며 시비를 걸어옵니다 감독이 현금과 패물로 피해가려했듯이 엑스트라도 시비는 핑계일뿐 아내(강혜정 분)를 살리려면 소녀를 죽이라고 강요합니다.

협박에는 시간제한이 제맛인데 소녀를 죽이지 못하고 시간이 지날수록 피아니스트 아내의 손가락은 잘려나갑니다.

감독은 결국 두손을 들고 자신의 치부, 바람을 피웠고 아내는 재능이 없고 그런 아내가 죽어버렸으면 좋겠다고 고백합니다. 엑스트라는 아내도 바람을 피우고 있다고 부추깁니다. 감독은 이야기꾼이기 때문에 엑스트라의 폭로따윈 이미 식상한 아이디어입니다. 씨알도 먹히지 않습니다. 오히려 역공에 나서는 감독.

실력행사에 들어가려고 하는 엑스트라. 엉덩이로 주소를 쓰다가 방귀를 뀌는 감독. 나는 가수다에서 김건모가 립스틱을 진짜로 발랐다가 처참하게 박살났듯이 아내의 손가락도 믹서기에서 박살납니다.

재갈을 풀어주자 같은 편이라 생각했던 아내도 엑스트라의 편을 듭니다 죽여!! 애를 죽여!! 악쓰는 아내를 보고 기겁하는 감독. 엉덩이 주소쓰기와 방귀에서는 엄근진하던 엑스트라는 또 서민들은 젓가락행진곡을 더 좋아한다는 궤변을 내뱉습니다. 영화감독이 관객수준맞추기는 정말 어려운가봅니다.

결국 소녀의 목을 조르는 감독. 가발이 벗겨지고 아이가 죽었습니다. 그는 엑스트라의 아이였습니다. 엑스트라는 죽었나 확인하는데 콜록거리며 살아나는 아이 엑스트라는 아내의 손목을 자르려고 가다가 미끄러집니다.

아내는 피아노줄에 엮인 엑스트라의 목을 물어뜯어 피를 빨아댑니다. B급에서는 피가 철철나야 치명상을 입은겁니다. 죽지 않았나 했던 엑스트라는 죽어버리고 아내는 그의 피를 토합니다 아이는 복수를 맹세합니다.

감독은 혼란에 빠진채 _ 의 목을 졸라 살해합니다 길게 내뻗은 혀도 빠질수 없습니다.

CUT 를 보고나면 여러 영화를 한번에 본 느낌이 나는데 B급 영화의 시각적 만족감과 그 속에서도 등장하는 고상한 취향, 창작자의 성향, 현실안에 갇혀있는 예술가의 윤리에 대해서도 묘사하고 있습니다. 한 장면에 여러층위의 이야기가 계속 존재한다는 점에서 B급영화로 보이는 심리다큐라고도 볼수 있겠습니다. CUT는 공동경비구역JSA의 코멘터리같은 영화입니다.

B-rated movies are a movie that showcases new ideas in the midst of ridiculous elements such as outrageous provocations, exaggerated use of props, non-logic, and set recycling. After seeing the CUT, I feel that I have seen many movies at once, but also describe the visual satisfaction of the B-class film, the noble taste that appears in it, the creator's tendency, and the ethics of the artist trapped in reality. I can also see it as a psychological documentary that looks like a B class movie because there are many story levels in one scene. CUT is a movie like JSA's commentary.
