I must say that I am a fan of minions and the first film "Despicable Me". Do not even doubt that the creators will continue to shoot the adventures of the minions and their evil leader because they collect a bunch of dollars. All these computer-animated films (Shrek, Ice Age, etc.) provide not only a wide scope for creativity and new ideas but also are excellent cash cows.
I knowingly posted information about the film budget and box office cause according to the Wikipedia:
On September 8, it passed the $1 billion threshold, becoming the second Despicable Me film (after Minions), second non-Disney-animated film (after Minions), third film of 2017 (after Beauty and the Beast and The Fate of the Furious), and the fifth animated film (after Frozen, Minions, Toy Story 3 and Finding Dory) to pass the mark. It became the first film since The Fate of the Furious (also a Universal property) in April 2017 to make over a billion dollars.
But we ourselves give money to the production companies. And I myself with impatience will wait for the following parts. Although the filmmakers say that this is the last part.
Somehow I missed the return of fashion to the 80's. But apparently, after the incredible success of "Guardians of the Galaxy", music, the motives of the 80's will now be shoved into all films. So in "Despicable Me 3" the main character yearns for his childhood when he was popular and starred in the TV series. But acne and pubertal period destroyed his career. He was stuck at that age, in the guise of a negative hero and of course, now has all the means to destroy the city, which took his glory. I really liked the villain and all the chips that were associated with him. A cool soundtrack, aerobics on cassettes, chewing gum and of course, a fashionable outfit of the protagonist and hairstyle. However, will the children understand all these stuff? After all, this movie is for children, not for adults?
Unfortunately, the minions are pushed into the background in the third part. Yes, there are scenes with them and minions in prison are generally hilarious, but I missed them. They practically do not affect the plot and are almost late for the final battle. And Gru does not really think about them. Of course, he is busy with a new villain and recovering his reputation, but he was with minions throughout his life and when they disappeared, Gru forgot about them. It pained me to see them like that.
The main line of the movie was the reunion of the brothers Gru and Dru. Dru's twin is the exact opposite of his brother. He is successful in everything, except one - villainy. He asks Gru to teach him to be a villain and maybe work in a pair. As separate characters, the two brothers looked good, but I did not feel the interaction between them. And their quarrels and reunions were expected.
Despicable Me 3 turned out to be very adult, sometimes ridiculous and predictable. Perhaps this is a worthy completion of the trilogy. All the characters grew up, took their places in life, got what they wanted. But there is no need for more.
Unfortunately, the movie did not leave a trace in my head. I saw it only a few days ago, but I do not remember anything. And all because the creators wanted to deflate more money from the franchise and they did it. As an easy film to pass the evenings, "Despicable Me 3" is perfect.
I love minion. All of character are love.

I only watched the minion movies, and never any of the "Despicable" movies. Then I tried to watch this one. Me and my friend didn't make it to the end of the movie. This movie needed more minions in it. I couldn't care less about the brothers or family troubles.
Speaking of box office, this movie is another movie in a long series of movies that failed in the US and was saved by the rest of the world. 25.6% of incomes from the US is one of the worst statistics a movie can have. It's almost as bad as Fast 8 which also mad a billion dollars, but only 18.3% in the U.S.
Therefore, both movies usually get the status of box office failures despite these impressive numbers, because they also create disaster headlines.
